CASE STUDY
Belton House’s Lights and Song
Client: National Trust
Digital Elements: Projection Mapping
For the grand finale of Belton House’s Christmas event “Lights and Song”, TECH:SQUAD in collaboration with design agency Katapult, produced a stunning projection mapping on the front exterior of the National Trust venue. Taking inspiration from Clement Clarke Moore’s “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, the animation follows Father Christmas on his magical journey from the North Pole on Christmas Eve.
TECH:SQUAD worked closely with staff at Belton House to ensure the visual and audio content was keeping with the National Trust brand while evoking a sense of festive wonder for the visitors. Technical diagrams, photography and 3D scanning were utilised to capture an actuate layout of the front exterior of Belton House. The layout of the front exterior formed the canvas for the animation with the story unfolding in and around the architecture, which is then mapped onsite by TECH:SQUAD bringing the building to life.
